Boy Scout Troop 853 is chartered to St Matthew United Methodist Church. The Troop was formed in 1979. Membership in the Troop is not limited to members of the church. The Troop is part of the Mesa District of the Grand Canyon Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Every Monday: Troop 853 meets every Monday at 7:00 PM at St. Matthew UMC in the Fellowship Hall.
Every First Tuesday: The committee for Troop 853 meets every First Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Old Chicago.
